We interrupt this blog ...
... to inform you that ICL has been a very busy girl. She has not had time to post or read because she's been werking until 11 p.m. the last two nights. (She's also a very tired girl!). Plus she has something wrong with her feets (edema, my nurse-in-training daughter tells me). If it doesn't correct itself soon, she's going to hafta drag her butt to the docr's which will be difficult to fit in with 3 all day sessions Mon - Wed which she is busy preparing for and probably has to drag her butt to werk again today. Plus tamarra is Fathr's Day and she wants to do somein' special for her Daddy and Dad (those r two different ppls ~ Pool Boy (aka her man) and real Dad). Plus her #4 daughter needs attention. So tonight if she doesn't fall asleep she's gonna play boggle or scrabble wit 'er and then maybe pour herself a glass of wine and read those missed posts from everyone and pictures and all. So if I don't comment on your blog this week it's not because I didn't want to. Later ppls. Have a good weekend!

Stuff Portrait Fridays are brought to you from the fantastic photographer, Kristine at randomandodd.
I'm way late but here I go with my three words and pictures.
My puzzle
My Mum died last year at the age of 73. She seemed so healthy. It was such a shock. Still wondering how her heart could have given out so quickly and with no warning. It is what she would have wanted so I have no regrets in that regard. She died in her bed drinking her tea and doing her crossword on a Sunday morning. I miss her so much. Here she is the year before with my eldest at her college graduation, looking pleased as punch, glasses crooked, lipstick on her teach, in all her glory! RIP Mum xoxoxo
My best
Raising these kids to turn out so great. OK maybe not the one on the right (LOL!) It's hard to find a picture that Mat isn't clowning around in. But I liked this shot, taken last summer for said son's 22nd birthday and middle daughter's 20th.
Something old
A tombstone at Gallarus Oratory in Co. Kerry Ireland with Ogham writing dating back to 3rd century A.D.
P.S. I was going to put a picture of the mini jigsaw puzzle that I have on my desk and work and my old lustre jug inherited from my great grandmother but I ran out of time. I still might come back and update (add on to this post later). On to Saturday Photo Hunt. Ya, I'm addicted!

I kid you not ...
Yesterday I actually put this at the end of an email. I thought I dreamed it but no, I did not. There it was in black and white on that final email of the day that I sent when I was so pissed off.
"Please don't get back to me if you have a concern with the above because I do not really care and have no time to deal with it anyways! Hee hee ~ just wanted to see if you were paying
attention!"
I actually got the following responses:
- "All for one and one for all.................. Sorry Deb I just had to get back to you."
- "It is always important to read these messages right to the end!"
- "If you think the rest of us care either, then you are sadly mistaken!"
I think the last person was even more bitter than me. What do you think?

Hang on to your hats kids ...
... it's gonna be a bumpy ride! For the next 3 weeks anyways. Getting to a big deadline at werk so it's crunch time. People are cranky, grumpy, frazzled, whiney, lacking of the usual common sense and decorum ... and that's before they get their first coffee of the day! So humour me while I try to keep my sanity day in day out and pray for me that I don't end up telling some one for f off between now and the end of the month. Pleeeeaaaazzzzzze. [My, that was whiney! help! ;)]

Irish Drinking Dare
A Texan walks into a pub in Ireland and clears his voice to the crowd of drinkers. He says, "I hear you Irish are a bunch of hard drinkers. I'll give $500 American dollars to anybody in here who can drink 10 pints of Guinness back-to-back."
The room is quiet and no one takes up the Texan's offer. One man even leaves. Thirty minutes later the same gentleman who left shows back up and taps the Texan on the shoulder. "Is your bet still good?", asks the Irishman.
The Texan says yes and asks the bartender to line up 10 pints of Guinness. Immediately the Irishman tears into all 10 of the pint glasses drinking them all back-to-back. The other pub patrons cheer as the Texan sits in amazement.
The Texan gives the Irishman the $500 and says, "If ya don't mind me askin', where did you go for that 30 minutes you were gone?"
The Irishman replies, "Oh...I had to go to the pub down the street to see if I could do it first."

This week's word is "COMMUNITY"
I chose this picture not because it is especially good. Not because it's almost Christmas, but because, to me, it represents 'Community'.
This picture was taken on a school band trip to a school for learning disabled children. You see the students being entertained by my daughter's school band (Grade 7 & 8's) with Christmas Carols and other music which they thoroughly enjoyed. Some of the kids got to help with the percussion for one song and take turns directing the band.
I've included a few extra bonus pictures from the day, to give you the full feel of community that I experienced, as did my daughter, that day.
P.S. Our neighbourhood is supposed to have a 'community' garage sale today but it's raining! My idea of fun does not include having a garage sale, but especially if it's wet out.

TTT or PYP - Part Neuf
Tell the Truth or Pick your Preference
Please play by responding to this post with your answers or a link to your site.
Pick one or the other from each item below. Either state which applies most to you or state your preference. (if you're a lady and it's a guy thing, pick your preference)
If neither or both apply or you can't pick only one preference then for the sake of total wackiness you lose a point. Your starting points are 10. To see what your score means read below.
81..rollercoasters or scary movies?
82..turkey or roast beef?
83..watch TV or listen to music?
84..garden or play a sport?
85..golf or tennis?
86..candy or gum?
87..flirt or play hard to get?
88..butt or chest?
89..lock your keys in your car or leave your lights on?
90..waterski or sail?
So what's your score and what does it mean? It's very logical (in ICL's mind, anyways):
9 -10 - You've got it all figured out dontcha? ~ such that your funeral must already be prearranged.
5 - 8 - You win some, you lose some! Oh well, what's fer dinner, anyways?
0 - 4 - Trouble follows you everywhere, or maybe you just like looking for it! Here Trouble, Trouble, Trouble ... Here kitty, doggy, poochy, GPiggy, hammy, snakey, spidey, froggy, ferret, chinchilla .... or whatever you are!

Manic Monday
From the fabulous, fun & fancy, Fleur de Lisa:
What is the worst vacation you've ever been on?
I've never had a bad vacation that I can recall. I remember one school field trip in Grade 7 /8 where we went camping and got rained out. We had to spend the night at the local legion hall because it was still raining really hard and they couldn't get our camping stuff dried out, even though they sent the school bus driver to the laundromat to dry our sleeping bags in the big tumble dryers while we went on our tour of a historical site (Old Fort Henry, Kingston). They put boys on one side of the hall and girls on the other with a row of tables in between. I remember there was alot of giggling going on seeing the boys in their pyjamas etc. A teacher told a bedtime story to us (one that he made up) and I fell asleep while he was telling it and awoke the next morning to him waking us up with the conclusion of the story. I guess he must have stopped it part way through (I don't think he talked all night!) I was so tired that I slept right through the night and found it quite funny that I fell asleep while he was telling the story and then woke up to the story. Funny the things you remember!
Where did you go on vacations with your family when growing up?
We used to camp as a family and when I was about 8, my parents bought a cottage, so we spent every weekend from July 1 to Labour Day there and two weeks during the summer. When I was about 14 my parents bought a home in Florida and so we spent a number of Christmases down there. It was great fun! We fit 7 of us in a Chrysler (Mum, Dad, 4 kids and my Aunt) and used to drive 3 days to get there and 3 days back (1500 miles each way). Going to the beach on Christmas Day, doing Disney and Busch gardens every year was great fun that we looked forward to with great anticipation.
If you could set the national speed limit for all highways, what would it be?
I find 70 is a good speed for the > 4 lane highways. Most people go 10 miles over anyways and I think going more than 80 gets just a little too dangerous for some drivers. Not me, mind you. I am comfortable driving at 80-85. I drove over 90 in the UK.
If money were no object, would you rather fly or drive on a vacation?
My dream would be to have a RV and drive through out North America. I love driving holidays if we have the time. If time is short then I would rather fly just to get there fast. In my life so far I have driven 1500 miles to Florida or back a total of 15 times (3 times as a child and 4 times with my own 4 children). The last 2 times we've done it in 27 hours straight, driving right through while the kids slept in the back.

From LizzieDaisy. Tell 'er if you play, t'day, 'kay?

Joey's Only fish and chips on the way home from work a few weeks ago.

Pentecost Sunday
Acts 2:1-11
My translation:
The apostles and other new believers were together on the day of Pentecost in the same place. (This was about 7 weeks after Jesus' resurrection from the dead). Suddenly a strong wind came from the sky (heaven) and moved around them where they were sitting. They saw flames of fire which touched each one of them. As soon as this happened they were filled with the Holy Spirit and were able to speak or understand other languages as if it was their own and they were all able to understand one another. They knew this was a gift from the Holy Spirit because prior to that, they could not understand each other as they were all from different regions and did not speak the same.
Amen

Instructions from Kristine at Random & Odd are to post pictures of:
1. Something ‘Sparkly’
2. Something ‘Dull’
3. Something ‘Colorful’
So here is me sparkly party dress! It's fun and I feel fabulous in it!
Next we have a picture that looks dull but the content is definitely not dull. It is a picture of a statue of the Holy Family. Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
Finally colourful. That's the Canadian colourful, excuse me spelling, although this picture was taken in Florida. He's a beauty, ain't he?

blah blah blah bleu bleu bleu hee hee hee haw haw haw .... oh .... is this thing on?
'k things on my mind but I'm too tired to blog about them and I do not want to bore you or incriminate meself. So I'd rather just tell a gross story about Coprophagia.
Was too tired to go out on our nightly walk with me dog and granddog and hubby and daughter. (I biked to work today and ran at lunch ~ that is all.) So we sent said daughter and second daughter out for the walk wit' the two dogz. They were gone for quite awhile, I think longer than we usually go and I was beginning to get a bit worried. Then, just before it got dark, I heard the squeaky front door open and the pitter patter of feet. My dog runs to see me to announce that he is home, safe and sound, once again. Little pitter patter comes trailing behind then as her mama enters the room it is said "Don't kiss her!". OMG What did she do? I knew damn well since she has recently discovered the delicacies in the cat litter box in an world (aka part of the house) that was previously unknown to her. I chastised my daughter for not watching closely to let her get at what she got. She was probably too busy blabbing away wit' 'er sister. I asked her what did she do to rectify the situation and she said well it's pretty hard to take it out of her mouth when she's chomping away. uuuuuggggghhhhhhh!! ok that's it! she's not sleeping in my bed no more. No sirrrreeeee! That's it! Granddog or no granddog. My dog does not eat poop and I'm not puttin' up wit' it wit' me Granddog. No way, no how. No way Jose. Nada. It is finished.
She's sleeping at my feet as I write this.
