This is a picture of my granddog and her brother as babies

They're both wirehaired miniature dachshunds.
She is tan and he is wild boar colour.
He was a lot smaller than she was as you can see.
Here's a link to a nice site of a Dachshund Breeder
Here's links to other dachshund breeders
Did you know that in Canada, to be considered a purebred with the CKC, smooth coated dachies must be bred with smooth coated, wires with wires and long haired with long haired? Apparently, in the States you can breed smooths with wires etc. and still be considered pedigree. That's what my daughter's breeder told us anyways.
Dachshunds make great pets. They are stubborn though and they're hard to house train. Plus they chew (shoes, wires, underwear, bathing suits) so don't leave them around. They're hounds so have a keen sense of smell and interest in smelly things! And they bark sometimes or (cluck like a chicken in Daisy's case) They make up for all their troubles with their cuteness, but be warned!
Next time posts on standard poodles, I promise.
And also my kitty pics!

I love your grandbabies! We have a black and tan miniature dachshund and I agree with everything you just said, but when it's all done, they are so cute! I just love our Ruby, but I sure do miss my cute pink purse my MIL gave that had cute charms that spelled my name out. I'm still trying to figure out how she got to it!

Thanks everyone, she said blushingly.

R - funny story about that - my daughter is my step daughter. You wouldn't believe the number of appliance salesmen who would say she looked like me just to butter us up for a sale. Lisa and I would just smile and say thankyou and laugh at the goof later as we walked out the door.

Good luck with your on-line shopping! hee
