Thursday Thirteen Things on MY TTD List

It's been a busy week. Glad I had this pre-written. Hey's it's week 58 but my #13 of Thursday Thirteen!!! Can I get a woot!??!! This weeks TT is especially thrilling, dear readers.

1. Clean my room!

Ok so it looks like a war zone. I've got laundry baskets of mismatched socks, clothes that need mending, piles of paperwork and magazines that need to be gone through, boxes of crap from my drawers that I need to sort through. 'nuff said. What is supposed to be my sanctuary has become my battleground.

2. Clean the screens in the windows

We don't run the air conditioning unless it's really hot. Consequently the screens get dusty and dirty and they need a good wash, vacuum since I didn't do it this spring.

3. Put my mother's things away

So I have some collectibles and dishes from my Mum that are sitting on my dining room table. I haven't put them away anywhere for a few reasons, the first of which I have no where to put them. I need to purge my own stuff to make room for my Mum's things that I want to keep. Me bad.

4. Clean the front hall closet and mudroom.

So it's that time of year when summer sandals should be thrown out or put away, fall and winter coats need to be brought out and figure out what fits and who needs a new one. The closets are both jam packed full. I find it's at least a half a day job to do this properly.

5. Clean the basement aka bogland.

My regular peeps know that we had a flood in the basement in August when our hot water tank busted. The damage is limited to the carpet and some box contents but right now it's a freakin' mess down there and I need time to get organizing it. Perhaps when the carpet is replaced I will feel more motivated.

6. Weed the garden before winter!

I'm not too good at doing this. I usually just let everything die and get covered up with snow and in the spring I have a big mess to clean up before I can plant anything. What will make this year any different. I don't know except that I've been wanting to do this every year for years but never get around to it. Any bets?

7. Sort through paperwork

Ugh! I hate this job. I hate paperwork with a passion. When you're in a job where you're dealing with paperwork all day, this is a real turn off and consequently I hate doing this in the evenings or on weekends.

8. Clean my clothes closet.

Actually, it's not too bad but I do need to put the summer clothes away. Purge some stuff (I still have some of my Mum's stuff that I probably won't wear so I should just get rid of now). This will probably be the least difficult of all the jobs.

9. Clean my bathroom drawers and cupboards.

It's been quite awhile and there's a lot of old makeup and toiletries that need to be dealt with. I'm getting better at parting with junk and stuff so this should actually be good therapy for me once I'm started.

10. Organize photos and put them in albums

OK I did this once many years ago and made individual photo albums for the kids. This was before scrapbooking was in vogue, I believe. I need to do it again. I probably would really like this once I got into it. I've never done scrapbooking but see that alot of bloggers are into it. Do you think scrapbooking would help me get motivated to do this job?

11. Scan old photos.

My Dad's been giving us all envelopes with old pictures in them that he has sorted through. He's been clearing out his house since my Mum died and I really appreciate getting the stuff and the pictures which I adore. What I would like to do is scan all of them and have them ready for Way Back Wednesday or other blogging funsies. This would probably be also kinda pleasurable if I can get the other tasks on my list out of the way first.

12. Purge some boxes of crap

So I have some boxes of stuff that has accumulated that I need to go through and throw most of the stuff out. My hubby says he just wants to throw the boxes out and not even bother looking inside but I know for a fact that their might be some important papers or valuables in there because some of the contents came from my bedroom drawers, when I was just trying to make some room one day and put a bunch of stuff in a box, intending to get back to it but never did. Things kept getting added to the boxes and now I'm not sure what all is in there.

13. Admire my accomplishments when done!

This will be a good day for me. I will feel more inclined to entertain more than just family members which is where I'm at right now, and even then I don't feel like doing that with my dining room table all covered. I'm trying to figure out why I am procrastinating so much. It could be that I'm just burnt out from work, and having only two days each weekend, does not seem like enough time to really get into it.

Also, I'm terribly afraid of hurting my back and my arm. I am already nursing tendonitis in my right arm, so pull weeds and lifting things is not going to help that at all. My back is okay and I would like to keep it that way. Whenever I start to do something out of my routine, is when I injure the disc and when I do that I'm in bad shape. Alot of pain, alot of drugs, miss work, can't exercise it's all not good. Just before Christmas I put it out Christmas shopping of all things and I was in such pain that I fainted and hit my head on the bathtub. I'm such a weenie. It's a terribly sharp excruciating pain that takes your breath away. I don't like it and consequently I am afraid of it.

So thank you for enduring, dear readers, if you are still here, my boring list of TT. I hope you feel honoured that you have played a role in my therapy and recovery, and for that I am extremely grateful.

Please come back next week...pleeeeeaaaaasssssse! I'm begging you!

Oh and BTW, did I ever tell you I kissed the Blarney stone? ha ha ha Click on Blarney for proof

I will get caught up on your blogs this weekend...ok? Miss everyone! xoxo

Sounds like you're going to busy for a while. I need to get organized too, but I think I'll just move instead.

I’m with you, ICL. I deal with paperwork all day so I hate coming home in the evenings to do it then too. As far as laundry goes- I love to wash it, but hate to fold it- especially the socks!

Don't over-do and hurt your arm and/or back. It's not worth it!
:-)

Wow! And I thought my to-do list was bad. Sheesh. Good luck.

I hate going through photos. I mean, I like going through them, but I hate it because it takes so long ('cause they're so intersting), and I can never figure out a way to organize them. I have too many piles!

I think we should forget cleaning and take a vacation on a cruise ship or something? I got a crap load of cleaning to do too!

Yes! I saw that pic of you kissing the blarney stone when you first posted it! I'm still jealous! Must mean I'm an old friend now, since I remember your posts from "way back".

later dude!

(I swear if blogger makes me type in letters one more time, you'll never get this message. I'm positive they try really hard to trip me up!)

I have a similar list of things I have to do as well. But I didn't put them on my TT! Great list!

Gee, I need you to come over and help me with all of that here.

when you're done cleaning your house, can you come clean mine? :)

It's hard to keep it all together sometimes, isn't it? I need to do many many of these same things. I do find that it's easy to get rid of boxes if I haven't looked in them for a year. I force myself to do it. I may open it to be sure there's no great heirloom, but can only take something out if that is the case.

My TT is up, too!!

I think I'm just going to copy and paste your post for my post. Just kidding. Could be mine though, except for the scrapbooking part, I'm knee deep right now. But I don't think I'll ever completely finish that. Someone should stop me from taking photos. Less of them maybe. ha.

I'm impressed over the list! Phew!

I didn't kiss the Blarney stone, with my back (yes I know the pain you're talking about!) I just couldn't do it.

Maybe if it had cured my back :-)

I don't see a thing boring, considering mine is also about things I need to do! I've just been too busy doing other things. :)
