What Tarot Card are you?

Found this at Pam's

Hey, she's having a virtual Pampered Chef Party on November 11. If you need anything go check out her blog above. She's giving away her hostess gifts too!!!!

You are The Empress

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.

The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents,
beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home
decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

Monday again? Yikes!

AND
I'm doin' last week's and this week's Manic Monday together. And since last week's is kinda a memory, I'm combining this as a Monday Memory post. Yes I'm a cheater but I'm also efficient! lmao

I've Been Everywhere...
What's the longest road trip you've ever taken? Do you like traveling in the car? What do you do to keep yourself (or your kids, if you have them) entertained while on a car trip? What's the oddest thing in your glove box right now?
create your own personalized map of the USA of states you've visitedor visited Canadian provinces
for our friends to the north!

Longest road trip is to Florida and back. I have taken that trip 9 times by car - 1500 miles each way. 27 hours driving. I've done it in 3 days 3 times, 2 days twice and in one day 4 times. I still love that trip. I would do it again many times. I almost prefer driving to flying. I'm not afraid of flying at all, but I just love the driving journey (as long as the weather is not bad i.e. snow). Sometimes, though, when you just want to get there, flying is better.

We use the laptop with DVD's for the 'kids'. They are great car travelers since they've done it alot. One daughter takes Gravol because she gets a little car sick but it's okay. Knocks her out! She needs to catch up on sleep anyways!! LOL

I have no idea what's in my glovebox right now but I know once I had nailpolish in there. I stuck it in there because I didn't want it to get too hot in the sun in the car. Why I had nailpolish in the car to begin with I'm not sure! LOL

All You Need Is Love
Could you ever be in love with someone you knew you couldn't trust?
Would you rather have a strikingly attractive spouse who was disappointing in bed or a plain-looking spouse who was fantastic?
Is it easier for men or women to find good partners?
If you could spend one night with anyone in the world you desired, but only by getting permission from your partner, would you ask for it?
If you found your true love, how long would you wait for him/her to return your love?

NO. THE LATTER. NOT SURE. DON'T THINK SO. 45 MINUTES. LOL.

Have a great week peoples!

WEEKEND

I'm off to an Irish Feis in Syracuse N.Y., with DQ Girl tomorrow! Will be gone all day and it's usually pretty exhausting plus we won't get back until Sat evening so I won't be visiting SPH's tomorrow.

Luckily I have mine ready to post, so on Sunday I will be catching up on those and TT's which I haven't had a chance to visit yet. (Worked until 7:30 p.m. last night~!!!)

I'm not promising I won't bore you again with pics. Maybe I'll do a video this time. Ya!

Accent

Since I'm off to the US tamarrah, I leave you with my Accent quiz results. BIG SURPRISE! LOL

Thanks Lisa for the tip! It's fun! You should do it!!

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: North Central

"North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.

The Midland
The West
Boston
Philadelphia
The South
The Inland North
The Northeast

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!!

SOS - Sunday Only Speak

Further to my Saturday Portrait Hunt Poster yesterday, I thought I would continue on that thread for Sunday Only Speak by referring to the BIBLE passages that mention sheep, many of which, of course, are not really referring to sheep but only an analogy to humankind.

1 Samuel 25:11 (Whole Chapter) Why should I give away my bread and water? Why should I give away the meat I've prepared for those who clip the wool off my sheep? Why should I give food to men who come from who knows where?"

In this case I think he is referring to his actual sheep. Samuel thinks he should only give away his food to those who work for him, not to drifters coming around. At least that's my interpretation.

Jeremiah 23:2 (Whole Chapter) So the Lord, the God of Israel, speaks to the shepherds who take care of my people. He tells them, "You have scattered my sheep. You have driven them away. You have not taken good care of them. So I will punish you for the evil things you have done," announces the Lord.

Jeremiah 23:3 "I myself will gather together those who are left alive in my flock. I will gather them out of all of the countries where I have driven them. And I will bring them back to their own land. There my sheep will have many lambs. Their numbers will increase.

Jeremiah 23:4 "I will place shepherds over them who will take good care of them. My sheep will not be afraid or terrified anymore. And none of them will be missing," announces the Lord.
__________________________________________________

Ezekiel 34:6 (Whole Chapter) My sheep wandered all over the mountains and high hills. They were scattered over the whole earth. No one searched for them. No one looked for them."

Ezekiel 34:8 He says, "My flock does not have a shepherd. Many of my sheep have been stolen. They have become food for all of the wild animals. My shepherds did not care for my sheep. They did not even search for them. Instead, they only took care of themselves. And that is just as sure as I am alive," announces the Lord and King.

Ezekiel 34:10 The Lord and King says, "I am against the shepherds. I will hold them accountable for my flock. I will stop them from taking care of the flock. Then they will not be able to feed themselves anymore. I will save my flock from their mouths. My sheep will no longer be food for them." ' "

Ezekiel 34:11 The Lord and King says, "I myself will search for my sheep. I will look after them.

Ezekiel 34:12 A shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them. And I will look after my sheep. I will save them from all of the places where they were scattered on a dark and cloudy day.

Ezekiel 34:15 "I myself will take care of my sheep. I will let them lie down in safety," announces the Lord and King.

Ezekiel 34:16 "I will search for the lost. I will bring back those that have wandered away. I will bandage the ones that are hurt. I will make the weak ones stronger. But I will destroy those that are fat and strong. I will take good care of my sheep. I will treat them fairly."

Ezekiel 34:22 But I will save my sheep. They will not be carried off anymore. I will judge between one sheep and another.

Ezekiel 34:25 "I will make a covenant with them. It promises to give them peace. I will get rid of the wild animals in the land. Then my sheep can live safely in the desert. They can sleep in the forests.
__________________________________________________

John 10:14 (Whole Chapter) "I am the good shepherd. I know my sheep, and my sheep know me.

One of my favourite verses. It resonates with me.

John 10:26 (Whole Chapter) But you do not believe, because you are not my sheep.

John 10:27 (Whole Chapter) "My sheep listen to my voice. I know them, and they follow me.

Similar to John 10:14 above.
_________________________________________________

John 21:16 (Whole Chapter) Again Jesus asked, "Simon, son of John, do you really love me?" He answered, "Yes, Lord. You know that I love you." Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep."

John 21:17 Jesus spoke to him a third time. He asked, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter felt bad because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" He answered, "Lord, you know all things. You know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my sheep.

Jesus meant, look after my followers.

There are other references to sheep in the bible Job 30:1 (Whole Chapter) Job 31:20 (Whole Chapter)

Saturday Photo Hunt - SAFE

John 10:14, originally uploaded by irish_church_lady.

This is a house on the hillside of the area of the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland. Notice the fog hanging over the hill. You can see it almost touching the ground to the left of the house.
I've often wondered if this is an old abandoned house from the Potato Famine Days starting in 1845 to 1851. It's a quite a stark contrast to the word SAFE. World disasters, whether long ago or recent are difficult to fathom if you believe in a loving God.
I do, and I have faith that I may know the full story some day. It is something that my human mind cannot comprehend, but thankfully my spiritual being is enough to sustain my faith.
I do pray for guidance and strength for the Lord to help me and others, in any time of darkness, so that we may live in his light once again.
An excerpt

An inquest was held on Monday last, before Francis Twiss, Esq., Coroner, on the body of a poor labouring man, named John Botend, of Ballireanig, to the west of Dingle, who fell on the new road there making, and expired immediately after being carried to his residence. The verdict was "he came by his death from hunger and cold."

On Tuesday, the following day, an inquest was also held on the body of John Browne, Kilquane, who died on the road from Tralee through Littlerough to Dingle on Monday last, as he was on his way from the Workhouse at Tralee to Dingle-- fell on the road and was taken into a farmer's house at Kiloummen-- and expired in a few hours after. The Verdict was "that John Browne, being in the Union Workhouse and making his way home to Dingle, a distance of over 30 miles, died of fatigue and weakness." --Kerry Examiner.

Wash.Rinse.Repeat.

Hey THE OFFICE fans. This was a repeat episode of the season opener and a CLASSIC dudes!

Initially I was disappointed it was not a new episode but then I got into it again since it was such a great one and picked up on things I missed from the first view.

My favourite parts - tell me yours:

- Stanley explaining about why he now has two toasters... OMG I love Stanley

- Jim putting the guy ahead of him's calculator in jello ... what's that guy's name? ... and when that guy gets all mad and kicks the garbage can

- Jim explaining how he got his name of "Big Tuna" in his new office and the fact that he thinks nobody knows what his real name is

- The girl behind Jim explaining to the camera how Jim always shirks in front of the camera. She captured his antics beautifully!

- Dwight saying at the beginning how much he misses Jim and blubbering and all and then saying it was not true very emphatically. Believable in both parts!

- Michael trying to kiss Oscar to prove he is not homophobic

- Dwight trying to kiss Oscar because he was all inspired by Michael's demonstration

You can see a 2 minute replay on the NBC site here. See it all on exclusive deleted scenes.

Hug it out bitches if you love THE OFFICE!!!!

Foto Pherrets - Change

After Mum's Funeral, originally uploaded by irish_church_lady.

OK we all look happy here. We are, after a celebration of a life well spent. We are also still in shock.

People in these shots: My older sis and her husband, my oldest daughter, my hubby, my aunt and uncle from Ireland, my granddog.

My Dad's not in any of these shots but he's doing well.

This is one situation where the adage "The more things change, the more they stay the same." doesn't fit.

Life has been permanently changed for me.

Deal with it Church Lady.

I'm trying.
