SPH Youth

This weeks theme is Youth

Photo Theme. Join the blogroll. Grab the Scavenger Hunt code.

~If you play and visit, don't forget to tell TNChick which ones are your favourites~

I love these photos of my first cousins, once removed. (gotta get that correct, ya know!) They are the children of my first cousins in Ireland. I have six of them and there all boys. Each of my 3 first cousins had 2 each.

They are all such characters and fun and I miss them. They got along fabulously with BatGirl when we were there. I love their names too!

It's been two years now since I saw them and of course they have changed alot. Hopefully they will be coming to Canada to visit us soon!

This is my fav that captures the innocence of youth so well.

Updated with some bonus pics below and name pronounciations as suggested by Karen. Good idea! (BTW - some of them should have accents on them but I can't get the accents to display correctly with my Indonesian Blogger template!)

'Our' Eoghan his mam calls him. (OWEN)

More of the boys- second cousins to BatGirl
Cian (KEE-AN) (Eoghan's older brother), Darragh (DA-RAH) & Cahill (KAH-HILL)(2 bros).

OK this is Breandain (BROWN-DAWN - don't ask) and his brother Gearoid (GA-ROAD - ya how do they get these pronounciations from those spellings? sheesh!) is in his mam's tummy! (Ya and they say Mammy there, or Mam, not Mom or Mum)

BatGirl and the Lads!

Cian was always haming it up for the camera. I had to put this one in of Cahill with his funny face and holding the Spiderman toy I gave him. He was delighted!

Breandain and his Nana!

OK I'll stop now. I have so many other cute pictures of them as do we all of kids, I am sure!

It's funny how we think our own kids and relatives kids are so cute because we know their personalities so well. I just hope I have been able to capture some of it in these pictures.

I'm here to check out why you didn't play SPF and I find these beautiful kid shots. They do have some awesome names.

I have some folk from Ireland. My uncle is from Ireland but alas, I know none of his kin.

I did play spf.

Hmm, what handsome lads!! Your daughter's a beaut too!

Hmm, you need to post a pronunciation guide with the names. ;-) Great post of some beautiful kids!

(I am one who obsesses about the right name for relationships, too. Because of the way the generations work in this family, my son is around the same age as his first cousins' children. Everyone calls them second cousins, but they are first cousins once removed.)

I love it- they are all wonderful. you're right though, its the personalities that do it. have a great weekend!

Would that be you in the last photo? They are all adorable.. And such unusual names - are they of irish influence?

mines up.

Beautiful children with lots of spunk I bet! I love the names, when I was pregnant with Ian I looked for an Irish name. Ian was about all I could figure the pronounciation too and it also coincided with my name Shawn (my mom's fault)

As for the Blog Roll I am honored and I think I would fit well within the confines and description of crazy (just ask Terry after my outburt at him this morning). Thank you!!

Oh and I got the blasted personal property claim forms this morning, time to take inventory...

Delaine - thanks for checking out my SPH instead of my non SPF!

Wystful - I loved your contest today ... as if you didn't know already with my 3 posts lol

Maribeth - Thank you!

Deb - ya that's all boy grandchildren for my aunt. I'm hoping Brendain's mam will have a 3rd and it will be a girl. I don't think there's any hope for the other 2 cousins to have any more.

Jenny - I love them too but I could never get away with those really different ones here in Canada. I have enough trouble with my youngest who is Seana with an accent on the e which I can't type here. (pronounced Shaw-na). She is often called at drs offices etc. Sea-anna. Which actually is appropriate because she loves the Sea.

Pam - thanks - I love how they refer to boys or guys or a group of people in Ireland as THE LADS.

Karen1 - I added the pronounciations. Thanks for the tip. Yes I am anal like that too.

Karen2 - You are so right!

Girl - If they're good shots I love them too! It's hard to try not bore people though :)

ET & Janet - No, that's their grandmother. You'll see lots of pics of me elsewhere on my blog.

TNC - Thank you. They are such previous photo subjects.

Iris - No, Thank you for visiting!

C1 - I've wondered about your name since I found out what it is. Forgive me but Shawn is such a boys name. Shawna seems more appropriate LOL but I may be biased. ;) OK so CRAZY it is!!

Can't understand how I missed to visit your PSH yesterday, but I was very tired and we have become a crowd, hasn't we?

Love all the pics and the names with the spelling! It's really very special and difficult.
